Morning Thoughts
Welcome
Some of my readers have asked for more info on who I am and my background. This abbreviated bio isn't intended to tell you much personal history about myself and that's in keeping with the crypto culture of security and anonymity. I have nothing to hide. Just protecting my privacy. As you should if you are serious about self custody. Your call. But for those who have expressed interest in my background, here's a little extra to feed your insatiable appetite for information.
I was dragged into crypto in 2012 by a client who was an early Bitcoin developer. At that time the ecosystem was in its embryonic stage, with Bitcoin the dominant protocol. He insisted on paying me in whatever cryptocurrency I chose. Naturally, I fought the idea. He offered to teach me P2P protocols, and after nearly a year of negotiation, I agreed to 50% of my fee in crypto. Today he still calls to say I’m the most expensive engineering consultant he’s ever paid.
I’m not a developer, I know enough code to be dangerous, and while I wasn’t dragged kicking and screaming, curiosity led the way. Bitcoin changed how I view money. It was like a seed planted in semi-fertile ground. I grasped the fundamentals quickly, but the full weight of the White Paper took time to sink in. I’m not a Bitcoin Maxi, but I am an individual freedom advocate. Those who control money control the individual in infinite, intimate ways. No one controls Bitcoin, and that makes me an independent observer from the early days.
Bitcoin isn't “digital gold” and it’s not “cryptocurrency” either. It's harder, scarcer, more portable than precious metals and safer than any centralized blockchain. It was built to replace the very fiat illusions that keep most people trapped. The entry of ETFs and institutions into this economic ecosystem? Just the old fiat system in new digital clothes, all dressed up for the party.
Most won't escape the centralized debt system quickly. The rinse-repeat panics, late epiphanies, for those drowning in debt, it's real, but the system prevents them from seeing an escape hatch. And, that’s why I’m here. I’m not offering hype, just the truth. It’s up to you to find a sufficient incentive. Those who “get it” will be positioned for the flip years we're in the middle of now. You’re still early whether you realize it or not. Particularly if you are in the early to mid-20s. The older crowd will just watch their net worth dwindle and hopefully they have enough savings to see them through to the end. And, you don’t have to be one of them.
My social media feed and Website exist for clear thinking in a chaotic, distorted world. No fear-mongering or false certainty, just orientation, accountability, and rigorous perspective. Bitcoin taught me first principles; this ecosystem taught me how to be free. Truly free.
If that resonates, stay. Question everything. HODL harder.
